DR. DALE CLASSEN BIO

 

Comox Valley Surgical Associates is proud to welcome Dr. Dale Classen and his excellent standard of patient care to our facility in April 2011.

Dr. Dale Classen is a well respected Certified Plastic Surgeon and Teacher, previously with   Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon since 1994; WCB – Alberta since 2008 and  WCB - Saskatchewan since 1998; and the University of Saskatchewan where he served as Director of Education, Department of Surgery from 2007 until 2009.  Dr. Classen served as Associate Professor in some capacity since 1994 at the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Classen’s extensive Academic Credentials include his Medical Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987 with Rotating Internship at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario from 1987 to 1988.   He did his Plastic Surgery Residency with the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario from 1988 -1992.  He received his FRCSC, Specialty Plastic Surgery in 1992.  He completed a Reconstructive Microsurgery
Fellowship at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky from 1993 to 1994.

Dr. Classen received the prestigious Fred Inglis Award for Excellence in Teaching By Faculty in Core Surgery, Department of Surgery, 1998, and the PAIRS Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2010.

He has published articles in Year Books as well as numerous papers published in refereed journals.

We look forward to partnering with Dr. Classen in serving the needs of the Comox Valley for Plastic Surgery procedures now and in the future.
